Weight loss resistance is a complex multi-factorial condition, not a personal failing.
There's a reason you feel stuck
The surprising truth is that some people stay healthy despite their weight. Others develop serious health complications.
New research is challenging everything we thought we knew about weight loss.
While weight loss remains crucial for overall health, this research explains why "eat less, exercise more" approaches don't work for everyone.

Step 2:
Book an Initial Appointment: Let's uncover what's really holding you back - stress, hormones, gut health, or all of the above.
Step 3:
Testing is Key: Comprehensive bloodwork assessment is crucial for accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment.
Weight loss resistance is a sign of metabolic dysfunction.
There's probably a reason why you're feeling stuck, and eating less or exercising more isn't the answer. The inability to lose weight with moderate changes and a healthy lifestyle is considered weight loss resistance.
THIS IS NOT THE INABILITY TO LOSE THE LAST 5-10 POUNDS.

Beyond the Basics
Restore metabolic flexibility so that your metabolism can do what it's supposed to do!
To restore a healthy functioning metabolism, I created the 3Rs of Metabolic Repair
Remove Obstacles
Regulate Function
Restore Metabolic Flexibility
Calories and physical activity matter, but how food and exercise affects hormones matters more in weight loss resistance.

What's getting in the way?
Part of my job is identifying the factors that are contributing to your health concerns and preventing progress from taking place. These might be blood sugar imbalances, insulin resistance, chronic stress, yo-yo dieting, digestive issues, hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies, chronic fatigue, low motivation, limiting beliefs etc. These aren't excuses. These are real issues. Identifying these obstacles and addressing them adequately is often key.
Clear the Path
Regulate
Support interconnected gears
When your metabolism is stuck, it’s often because multiple systems in your body are out of sync.
Visualize the body as a series of interconnected gears that work together to support a flexible metabolism.
If one gear gets stuck, it affects the whole system. Treating only one gear is like trying to fix just one part of a complex machine. By treating multiple gears at once, the whole system runs smoothly again.

A flexible metabolism adapts and reacts
Metabolic flexibility is your body’s ability to switch between burning carbohydrates and burning fat for energy, depending on what’s available. In a healthy, flexible metabolism, the body can seamlessly adapt to different conditions—such as eating, fasting, or exercising—and adjust fuel sources accordingly. Metabolic flexibility helps helps prevent weight regain, since a flexible metabolism can adjust better to fluctuations in diet and activity levels.
Increase resilience
Understand your body through functional testing analysis and biofeedback
What gets measured, gets managed. Data often drives success and serves as an accountability tool. It is also used to track and measure progress.
There are two types of data that get tracked and monitored.
1. Signs which are measured (i.e labs, body measurements, weight, HRV, CGMs, etc)
2. Symptoms which are experienced (appetite, mood, energy, sleep, exercise recovery, stress, libido, digestive function, etc).
Assessing both will give us a way to know if we are moving in the right direction or if modifications to the treatment strategy are needed.

Assessing multiple dimensions of your health allows me to individualize your supplement protocol, nutrition and eating habits in more targeted and therapeutic ways.

Being overweight isn’t a willpower problem

Hungry Brain or Hungry Gut?
The typical approach to weight loss treats everyone the same—whether it's low-calorie diets, workout programs, or weight-loss medications. But no matter how hard you try, results are inconsistent or don’t stick. Weight loss isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey. Your body is unique, and your weight loss plan should reflect that. The phenotyping approach moves us beyond generic weight loss advice. It ensures that evidence-informed interventions are personalized for your unique metabolic and behavioural needs.
